people always think this is kurt denying that he had a gun for suicide. well that wasn't it. it was way before he was killed. this song is an assurance to a good friend, about another matter, where kurt had suggested a remedy for someone else's problem with a real badass. it involved a gun, but that was not acceptable to the person in question, who made kurt promise that he wouldn't take matters into his own hands. so kurt swore that he wasn't in possession of a gun at that time, which was when he was out on the road touring. Nothing happened. But kurt really did believe in the use of guns for certain appropriate uses. He was not afraid to use one in defense. |
