Yes it is about his grandmother, but do you know why? Do you know why he wrote it about her?? He wrote it about her because she was his muse, and was basically the one who got him through his music career and what got him into music in the first place. He loved his grandmother deeply. More than anyone could imagine, and wrote the song when he found out that she had died. I didn't know either one of them, but it's really sad knowing their story, not because he is famous or hot or whatever anyone says, but because they were a family, and half the familes you see now a days just ignore each other and say they could care less about each other. I know it was hard for him, especially since he had to get up on stage a few days later. He put a smile on his face and was just happy for the good times they shared. I don't blame him, not one bit, and gerardwashere, you seem cool. Email me sometime, you seem like you know a lot about him, I met him once in Boston not to long ago. That is very touching but most of already knew that 
My Chemical Romance sing about meaningful things ... mostly. They are a totally amazing band. But unlike randybear58 - who muct be quite young, I've only known about them for a year or so but in that time have listened to nearly all thier songs and am now the lead singer of a band - we aspire to be like MCR and though we have only completely produced 5 songs so far we are getting good reviews from papers. We're not big but we're getting better!
PS This is not an advertisement or anything like that, OK?
And the story of Helena is really very touching, my family could be closer - my parents have divorced - but I think we are as close as we can be having that behind us. But that incident made me blame myself and became depressed at the age of 12.
Wow, I am talking to people I don't even know about my problems - there are lots! Like I'm in love with someone who doesn't love me back, I'm still on anti-depressants and get paranoid all the time. But at least I can sing!
My Grandmother - Meme - died a few years ago of cancer and I was mortified but not sad because I knew her very well, but because I had only met her once - and I can hardly remember that time.
If anyone reads this you'll probably think I'm crazy but the main reason I write my problems on forums is because I can't tell anyone in real life and it's just getting it out of my system.
