Oh, mercy. We got us a city boy here, Clyde. Sorry, no offense meant. Mountain dew, for those of you who may never have heard of anything but the lemon/lime beverage from Pepsi is homemade sour mash corn whiskey. It's also known by the names "moonshine" (it's illegal and most distilling activities are done at night) and "white lightnin'" (homemade corn liquor is usually clear). Moonshining (the act of distilling illegal whiskey) is still common in many parts of rural America, especially in the Appalachian and Smokey mountains. |
