I'm The Slime 7/3/2006 9:16:21 AM trecherouscretin Posts: 4 Lyrics: Rhythm: Instruments: Vocal: Overall: Musically, this is a brilliant co-opting of the "scary" descending scale used to effect for the verses. The opening is a blast of visceral guitar fury demonstrating FZ's command of all the standard blues riffs extruded through a muffin annoitment utensil. The original performance with Tom Fowler on bass and Ralph Humphrey on drums create a sinuous groove that demands your rapt attention. Lyrically this is a wonderfully hilarious indictment of standard media presentations. Where this song really shines is as the CONCEPTUAL CONTINUITY is demonstrated as the song metamorphs from the general condemnation of "tv" on the Overnite Sensation to a more specific and damning indictment on 1976's Saturday Night Live appearance (with special narration by Don Pardo) and a quick up-to-date while on tour in 84: "I'm that CRAP on MTV on your tv set . . ."
