Next to 'Amazing Grace' this is probably the most widely recognized spiritual song on the continent. I would bet there are a thousand variations on the lyrics, I think I've heard a few. Do you have any other lyrical variations on hand? |

There are plenty!!
You should listen to Neko case's wich is really good or f you like gospell with piano there is Selah's version which is quite good too!
There are also different version by The Isaacs or The Silencers or Emmylou Harris (I like this particular version because of the singer's beutiful voice!But still...my favorite one is really 16's!) |

I'd like to precise something about the lyrics!!As you may have noticed it above ,there are many different version and so many different lyrics!These are 16 horsepower's!So don't be surprised if it doesn't correspond to the one you know!!! |

Oh my God!
Thank you SO much!
All I did was read these peoples lovely comments and I've learned so much more about this song that my parents used to jam to that completely addicted me to the rich sound of the old Spirituals.
This has always been one of my favorite songs to sing.. but the only part of the lyrics I ever knew.... happened to be the line |''|I'm only going, over Jordan, I'm only going to my home.|''| Which is not really in this version.
But now that I know that there are several differnt version, I'll know to surf arround for my favorite! =)
And here I thought I'd never find lyrics for it!
